Procedures

Rarely one
procedure.

This is everything performed here, grouped by what it acts on — the fat, the frame, the breast, the abdominal wall. Almost no plan uses only one of them, and the order they are done in matters as much as the choice.

Some of these have a page of their own: what the procedure is, who it suits, what it costs, how long you stay in Japan, and what can go wrong. The rest are described here while their pages are being written. Nothing on this list is offered without a consultation first.

Soft Tissue

Working on the fat.

The largest category, and the one most plans begin with. What separates these from ordinary liposuction is not how much is removed but at which depth, and how evenly the surface is left behind.

Sculpting

HD VASER Liposuction

Ultrasound used as energy, to separate fat before it is aspirated. Removal at varying depths so that the surface reads as anatomy rather than absence.

Sculpting

VIBROFIT — Power-Assisted Liposuction

The instrument that removes what the ultrasound has released. A cannula that moves itself, so a broad surface is left even rather than bearing the signature of a tiring hand.

Sculpting

UGRAFT

Ultrasound-guided fat transfer. Imaging during the procedure confirms the plane the cannula is actually in, so fat is placed where it was planned and nowhere else.

Men

Male Body Contouring

High-definition etching planned around male anatomy, where the target is the shadow cast by muscle rather than a reduction in size.

Arms

Arm Liposuction & Arm Lift

Upper arms designed together with the shoulder and the back line, because an arm treated in isolation rarely looks right from behind.

Back

Back & Bra-Line Contouring

The rolls that appear above and below a bra strap are a separate problem from the waist, and are treated as one.

Buttock

Gluteal Augmentation

Fat transfer, implant, or a hybrid of both — chosen for how much projection is wanted and how much fat there is to move.

Skeletal Contour

Working on the frame.

Some waists cannot be narrowed by removing fat, because fat was never what was limiting them. If the distance and angle between the lower ribs and the pelvis leave no room for a curve, the only remaining variable is the bone. These three techniques address different parts of that problem, and are frequently combined with each other and with liposuction.

They are also the most serious operations on this page. Each has its own page setting out the risks specific to it, and we would rather you read those before the fees.

Skeletal Contour

RIBXCAR — Rib Remodeling

The lower rib cage is reshaped rather than resected. Through punctures rather than an incision, under real-time ultrasound. Developed by Dr. Raúl Manzaneda Cipriani; performed here as AX Asia Ambassador.

Skeletal Contour

FRONTXRIB

The anterior ribs, addressing the front of the waist and the upper-abdominal line — the part a side-view photograph shows and a front-view one hides.

Skeletal Contour

XCREST

Reduction at the iliac crest, lengthening the visual distance between the lowest rib and the top of the pelvis. Works on bone with no lung behind it, which changes its risk profile entirely.

Breast

Working on the breast.

Over 6,000 breast operations sit behind this category. The decision between fat, implant and a combination of the two is made from your tissue thickness and what you want it to feel like — not from a preference for one technique.

Breast

Breast Augmentation

Fat transfer, silicone implant, or hybrid. Softness, proportion and the amount of cover your own tissue can provide decide which.

Breast

Mastopexy — Breast Lift

Restoring lift, shape and nipple position. Performed alone, or combined with augmentation in a single operation where the tissue allows it.

Abdomen

Working on the abdominal wall.

Liposuction cannot tighten a muscle that has separated, and it cannot remove skin. Where either of those is the actual problem, no amount of sculpting will solve it — which is why these operations exist alongside the ones above rather than in competition with them.

Abdomen

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty restoring a firm abdominal wall where the muscle has separated or the skin will not retract. Often combined with HD sculpting of the flanks in the same session.

Mommy Makeover

A staged combination rather than a single operation — sequenced so that each stage heals before the next one depends on it.

How these fit together

The order matters.

A waist can be a fat problem, a skin problem, a muscle problem or a bone problem, and it is common for it to be two of those at once. Choosing the right operation is less than half of the work; the rest is deciding what is done first, what is done in the same session, and what has to wait until something else has healed.

That sequencing is what a consultation produces. If you are travelling from abroad, it is written down and agreed by email before you book anything — because the plan determines how long you need to be in Japan, and that determines everything else about the trip.
